    Description

    Workshop Recruitment is seeking experienced roofers to work on fabric maintenance contracts in the Portsmouth area, with occasional work in the wider Hampshire region. This opportunity is with one of our clients who manages properties such as Social Housing, Schools, Offices, and Museums.

    The primary responsibilities of this role include a variety of roofing repairs in different types of properties. Tasks may involve pitch and flat roof repairs, tile replacement, lead repairs, and more. Training will be provided for non-licensed asbestos removal.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Protect tenants' property and maintain cleanliness after completing the work.
    • Keep the work van organized with easy access to tools and equipment.
    • Possess the necessary tools for the job.
    • Ensure high-quality work standards are always met.
    • Quickly respond to emergencies and resolve them efficiently.

    KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

    • Demonstrate competence in your trade and keep up-to-date with industry standards.
    • Familiarity with materials and methods in building maintenance, especially in historic buildings.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with residents and maintain professionalism.
    • Self-management skills and ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
    • Problem-solving skills and ability to make informed decisions.
    • Experience working in occupied environments (Desirable).
    • Strong customer service skills (Essential).

    QUALIFICATION REQUIRED

    • NVQ level 2-3 in roofing or equivalent.
    • Trade-based experience will be considered.
    • Clean, manual driving license.
    • DBS/Criminal Background check required before employment.

    EXPERIENCE

    • 2 - 5 years of experience in Social Housing or Building Maintenance.
    • Ability to work at heights.
