There has never been a better time to join us as we are looking for an experienced
Stock Controller to join our Finance Team in Wardle.


The
Stock Controller will report to the Financial Controller, administer and coordinate Stock and Processing Gain while driving better operational performance.


You will be required to work closely with the Operations departments to ensure the right levels of stock are maintained, that it is in the right place, at the right time maximising operational and commercial efficiencies as well as reconcile and understand the Processing Gain achieved by the company, and to drive improved performance and profitability in this area.


You will also be responsible for managing and improving stock records, inventory counts and audits, and ensuring the month end stock count and stock accounting is done accurately and within month end deadlines, and any variances can be explained to the FC, FD and Operations Director, and to the Mill managers at each site.


For month end financial reporting purposes, you will be completing stock count for all sites and own the process of gathering and submitting to Finance the movements (intake and despatch) at all sites.


You will also be required to complete the month end stock processes within Finance, such as: raw material and finished goods valuation, provisional valuation calculated by WD2 close, tote bags movement and cost calculation by WD3 and posting all stock journals in accounting system AX at month end by WD4 deadline.

You will create demand forecasts by site to support procurement and scheduling teams.


What skills are we looking for:

  • At least 2 years' experience in similar stock control management role
  • Ideally fully or part qualified Accountant
  • Commercially minded
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Methodological and logical approach
  • IT literate including MS Office, especially Excel
  • Highly motivated and ambitious
  • Someone with willingness to learn and a positive 'can do' attitude
