    Description

    Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a IT Systems Administrator for an initial 2 month contract with potential to extend on a rate of £450 -£500/day Inside IR35. This role will be a hybrid of working at home and in the office.

    Responsibilities:

    Ensure the uninterrupted day to day operation of the key services which underpin the normal running of the organisation in order for the organisation to achieve its aims of excellence.

    Ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data on all managed services and that services are operated to the standards set in the organisation's Information Security Policies.

    To support User Support staff, Computing Officers and support staff in locations in queries and issues which may arise in the use of these services to ensure the smooth running of all related services in the organisation.

    To be part of a team undertaking technical development of new services to ensure that the organisation maintains its goal of providing quality and cost effective services

    Essential Skills:

    An ability to work independently and as part of a team

    Sound understanding of Virtualisation, Windows Server and Linux systems

    Active Directory domain experience

    Strong ability to pay attention to detail and work in a methodical and organised manner

    Desirable Skills:

    Previous experience of working with large scale physical and virtualised infrastructure and application networking technologies like firewalls and load balancers.

    Knowledge of shell scripting, Python and Puppet DSL.

    Knowledge of Entra ID with Entra Connect Sync and ADFS

    Knowledge of SCOM, Zabbix, Elastic Search/Logstash/Kibana
