    We are seeking a Head of Programme Delivery for SEPD. The selected individual will be tasked with leading and managing the implementation of a portfolio of Large Capital Projects on the electricity distribution network within the SEPD licence area. The portfolio includes projects each year, with individual project values ranging from £2.5M to £50M, culminating in a total portfolio value of £250M. This includes all asset work programmes and investment projects above £2.5m, such as rail infrastructure projects and major customer connection projects

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Leading a team of around 75 professionals, both direct and indirect, within the function, and collaborating across all capabilities to ensure successful customer delivery.
    • Directing contract partners to guarantee efficient planning and controls for delivery across the portfolio in the license area.
    • Leading SHE performance and actively fostering a safety culture among delivery teams and contract partners.
    • Developing, monitoring, and controlling revenue/capital budgets for the business area, ensuring that expenditure aligns with the agreed budget and regulatory allowances.
    • Empowering staff and contract partners to deliver and perform to their full potential within a positive yet challenging environment that encourages success and excellence.
    • Establishing a centre of excellence for project delivery and promoting delivery excellence by understanding the customer and their business needs, identifying areas of improvement, and benchmarking and adopting best practices.

    Qualifications:

    • Proven experience in programme delivery within an infrastructure environment, with a history of managing a large portfolio of work.
    • Strong commercial acumen and experience managing various contract types and commercial arrangements for successful delivery, ideally with an understanding of value drivers for outperforming the regulatory settlement.
    • Excellent people management skills and substantial experience leading and motivating large teams across multiple organisational levels in a significantly sized business unit.
    • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage inclusively through various communication channels and forums, excellent networking and influencing skills to drive sustained improvements in compliance and profitability.
    • Knowledge and understanding of the UK regulated environment, particularly licence obligations for electricity distribution or a similar market.
