    They are looking for a qualified accountant/inventory analyst to join their finance team and to support the business as a whole.

    Reporting in to the UK Financial Controller, this role involves collaboration with their operational and commercial teams and excellent business partnering skills.


    The role:
    Oversee inventory accounting and valuation processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting framework.

    Analyse and report on inventory management within the business and its sales channelsProvide assurance on inventory holdings and valuations within the businessProvide financial support to reconcile system inventory to the accounts; improving the integrity of data related to inventoryBuild close working relationships with Production, Sales, Logistics, Merchandising in order to provide timely and reliable inventory reports and insights supported by robust valuationsLead projects to design and implement robust procedures and internal controls over inventory management and valuationInvestigate and report on aged, obsolete or faulty inventory to ensure that they are appropriately costed and accounted for.

    Build methodology for inventory provision policyLead projects for developing systems to ensure accuracy over tracking, recording and valuing of inventorySupport the development of procedures and controls around inventory movementClear out and audit inventory locations before implementation of new ERP systemSupport for monthly and year-end financial reporting needsPrepare analysis and support for annual statutory audit requirements.


    Liaise with auditors as requiredKnowledge and experience:
    Ideally ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualified.
    Experience of inventory processes and working within the finance function of a company that manage inventory. Understands fundamentals around inventory accounting including valuation, transfers, landed costs, stock reconciliations etc.
    Ability to critically evaluate existing processes, identifying areas for improvement, and recommending positive changes to process.

    Strong communication and interpersonal skills in order to build relationships with operational teams to identify and support their needs Ability to work in an environment where not all processes are fully developed and documented Strong Excel skills with experience of working with large data setsThis is a permanent full-time position with hybrid working, based at their Head office in West London.
