The Priory Hospital Southampton is part of the Priory group offering outpatient, day care and inpatient treatment for a wide range of mental health difficulties. The hospital is located in Marchwood on the outskirts of Southampton and comprises 40 inpatient beds across three wards.

    Sandpiper Ward: This is an acute admissions unit comprising 17 beds.

    Skylark Ward: 11 bedded specialist eating disorders Unit

    Starling Ward: This is acute admissions unit comprising 12 beds

    The hospital has well established multidisciplinary teams in all wards including medical, nursing, occupational therapy and psychology input. The non-consultant doctors in the hospital include specialty doctors and resident Medical Officer.

    Job Advert Location Description

    As an RMN on Skylark you would be working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team to provide excellent bespoke care to enable our patients to fulfil their recovery goals and work towards building a bright future after discharge for all within your care.

    Mixed gender Specialist Eating Disorder Units(SEDU) providing treatment for Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa, the service is well established. We work closely with the NHS to provide specialist inpatient eating disorder treatment for patients across the South. We work with local community eating disorder teams to ensure a smooth care pathway offering intensive multidisciplinary assessment and treatment. This includes physical monitoring, management of re-feeding syndrome, weight restoration, symptom interruption, meal plan management, NG feeding, Individual/Group and family Psychological interventions.

    As a registered nurse on the ward you will have a key role in the planning of care and implementation of care for people admitted both formally and informally. The role will include monitoring of patients physical and mental health, escalating and responding to issues and ensuring that practice is safe and effective. You will play a key role in MDT decision making working with the therapy team, psychology team and the medical team in reaching decisions with the patient at the centre. The role is an ideal development opportunity with a clear pathway into more specialist clinical work and into leadership roles if desired.
