About the Role

This job is about you helping me do things I cannot do alone so I can live life in the same way as anyone else.

You will be assisting me to live my life the way I want by helping me with personal care, home maintenance, food preparation, and accessing the community.

Your primary objective will be helping me get out of bed, shower, eat breakfast, go to the toilet, wear a suit, and be ready for work on time.

If the job is being met, we will form a strong, friendly working relationship.

I have a track record of my PAs working for me for a long time, and I am committed to your personal development.

You will work for me directly; there is no agency involved.

I am based in Bethnal Green, London and live 10 minutes' walk from Shoreditch High Street Station and 15 minutes' walk from Bethnal Green Station.

There are lots of local buses too.

About You
You do not need qualifications or previous experience to work for me.

I have been using PAs for over 10 years and can help you make the transition to doing this kind of work.

You must arrive for shifts on time, be a strong communicator in the English language, follow instruction, take the initiative, and complete tasks with reasonable haste, without rushing or hurting me.

This job is ideal, but not necessarily, for a people person who does not want to work standard hours, studies, or has another (flexible) part-time activity or employment.

This job needs people to be on time because lateness causes disruption to my work and activities. It also causes stress and anxiety for me. Unplanned absences put pressure on your colleagues. You will also need to complete tasks with reasonable haste without rushing or hurting me.

The job does require good physical strength, because you must assist me to get in and out of my wheelchair.

I weigh about 58kg, but I can bear weight through my legs. You will get manual handling training, but I do not use a hoist.

I have a speech impairment. This means good English is essential so that I can communicate with you. This helps us to work efficiently, effectively, and safely.

The job involves assisting me to care for my cat. You will need to be comfortable with cats.
