REPORTING TO:
Head of Legal & Governance Services


PURPOSE:

This is an amazing opportunity starting in a training role you will eventually deliver the day-to-day IT Infrastructure & operational systems, which supports the continual development and modernization of the Association, its staff,reporting processes and providing the expertise, advice and guidance for the implementation of new IT projects and systems.

Responsible for the account management of the outsourced IT partners.

Key responsibilities:


  • Full responsibility for the management of all their IT systems and their efficient running across the Association
  • Provide expertise advice and guidance to all staff members on both the software and hardware systems used within the Association
  • Research, develop the plans and provide the project management implementation of new IT systems to ensure the continual modernisation of the Associations IT infrastructure
  • Conduct regular audits of data and the cleansing to ensure the data can be relied upon
  • Support the digital graphic designer in terms of the IT infrastructure for the website and associated social media platforms
  • Installing, configuring and monitoring wireless network systems
  • Providing training to fellow employees about network security and the best computer usage practices
  • Support the IT infrastructure requirements of the company flagship events
  • Ensure system is continually kept up to date so it can be used efficiently and effectively to provide the Association with the necessary data on a regular basis to enable informed decision making.
  • Support the management of the membership renewal process
  • Ensure the Association's database is continually audited and managed in an efficient and effective manner
  • Working with other departments ensure all systems meets the needs of the Association
  • Create and develop reports to assist with data driven decision making
  • Support where necessary the Head of Legal and Governance Services to ensure systems are compliant with all necessary GDPR regulations
  • Manage the tickets and staff requests for support with the outsourced IT partners, including the requirements for starters and leavers
  • Maintain the register of allocated IT equipment including laptops, desk equipment and phones

Key skills/experience:


Please note you will be supported by training so if there is a skill that requires support this will be given:

  • Proven experience of database administration systems
  • IT infrastructure software packages
  • Knowledge of IT architecture processes and performance reports of operating systems
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Skills to understand and oversee code development
  • Proficiency in the working of servers, networks, computers and peripherals
  • Extensive knowledge of system security and procedures for protecting the organisation's data from intrusion or corruption
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages
  • Advanced knowledge about hardware and software configuration
  • Excellent troubleshooting, creative and technical problemsolving skills

IT skill/experience:


If there is a skill listed below you require training in, this will be supported.

  • Associate degree in IT and computer science,
- primary programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript
- programming languages for cybersecurity include C, C++, HTML, PHP and Assembly (*Desired but not essential)

  • Useful industry certifications include Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional CISSP or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE).

HOURS OF WORK:9-5pm 1 hour lunch.


The role will start as office based during the initial training to give you chance to settle and train, then moving to more of a flexible hybrid model where you will be able to work from home circa 2 days a week should you wish.
