    NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

    The shift pattern is Monday-Friday including early and late shifts.

    There are two positions within this post- one full time (37.5 hours) and one part time (30 hours).

    (Please note the salary is Pro Rata) for part time hours.

    Please note that for this post, no newly qualified practitioner for 2024 will be considered for this role.

    This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and friendly team of perioperative practitioners within the Same day surgery & Endoscopy unit at the Vale of Leven. The unit provides perioperative care to patients undergoing a range of surgical procedures within same day surgery unit at the Vale of Leven, this also also incorporates the endoscopy suite.

    The successful candidate will work in both the surgical day bed unit assisting the admission and discharging of the pre and post op theatre patients and also the delivery of care to those patients undergoing endoscopy procedures within the endoscopy procedure rooms.

    In addition to having current NMC registration, applicants should be enthusiastic, motivated, professional and able to demonstrate continuing professional development.

    Previous experience within the same day surgical environment is an advantage, however not essential as training and support will be provided by the rest of the team. This includes the support of the perioperative educator.

    These posts require PVG Scheme membership/Disclosure Scotland Check. The successful candidates are required to demonstrate flexibility by working within a service, which runs over a 5 day week.

    Furthermore, the successful candidates will be expected, only when absolutely necessary to engage in multi-site working within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde in order to achieve the needs of the service.
