    Description
    We are a facilities management company based in Chester.

    We supply cleaning, Caretaking and Site Management as well as maintenance services to both the private and public sector clients across the North-West.

    We are now looking for a Caretaker / Cleaner for a college in Manchester M16 postcode.

    Hourly pay rate are £13.50 per hour and the Caretaking contract is for 52 weeks per year.

    Ideal hours are

    11.45pm-7.45pm
    The suitable applicant will have previous caretaking/cleaning experience.

    FULL DBS IS DESIRABLE BUT WE CAN OBTAIN THIS FOR YOU IF REQUIRED.

    Previous experience is desired for this role and a good attention to detail.

    A local person for this position is preferred.

    Requirements

    • Receive delivery of supplies, furniture and parcels into the school; ensure correct distribution to the appropriate department/classroom/ teacher.

    • Liaise with contractors and monitor work being carried out by them, ensuring that work is carried out in accordance with the specification.
    • Undertake designated cleaning duties during term time and carry out cleaning operations during school closure periods. Maintain the grounds in a clean and tidy condition; remove accumulated internal and external waste, sweep the grounds using mechanical or other means.
    • Monitor the conditions of the school's sanitary provisions for both staff and pupils. Maintain supplies of materials and respond to problems arising from the improper use of facilities. Ensure safe storage and use of cleaning materials, in accordance with the requirements of COSHH.
    • Check the heating installation daily during the heating season and ensure sufficient fuel supplies are maintained. Monitor and ensure the most economic use of water, gas, oil and electricity. Carry out basic maintenance in accordance with operational manuals.
    • Undertake general fire precautions and security tasks at the school; unlocking and unlocking the school premises, setting and disarming security and fire alarm systems and other security measures, etc.
    • Carry out basic maintenance tasks on specialist equipment (eg, hydrotherapy and/or swimming pools, hoists and people-handling devices, minibus, etc), in accordance with operational manuals; in order that such equipment is readily available for the benefit of pupils for their care and education.
