Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Full Time Toolmaker to join our team.
You will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process by creating, repairing, and maintaining a variety of precision tools, dies, and fixtures.
Your expertise will contribute to the overall efficiency, quality, and performance of our products.Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with design and production teams to interpret technical drawings, and specifications.
- Utilize manual and CNC machinery to fabricate, modify, and repair precision tools, dies, and fixtures.
- Operate precision measurement instruments such as micrometres, callipers, gauges, and optical comparators to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure consistent performance and longevity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to tooling and equipment in a timely manner.
- Continuously improve tooling processes and techniques to optimize efficiency and quality.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, changes made, and materials used.
- Adhere to safety protocols and promote a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to identify areas for process improvement and contribute to problemsolving efforts.
- Work collaboratively to meet production goals, deadlines, and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications:
- Relevant; technical/vocational training in toolmaking, machining, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Toolmaker or similar role, with a strong understanding of precision machining and toolmaking processes.
- Proficiency in operating manual and CNC machinery, including lathes, mills, grinders, EDM machines, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of various tool steels, materials, and heat treatment processes.
- Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills to work collaboratively within crossfunctional teams.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software is a plus.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and practices.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and techniques.
- Time management skills to effectively manage parttime hours and contribute to the team's goals.
Working Conditions:
- Fulltime position: 1624 hours per week, 08:0016:30 Mon
- Thurs, 08:0014:00 Friday.
- Work environment includes manufacturing floor and tooling workshop.
- Regular use of machinery and precision tools; potential exposure to noise and chemicals.
- Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
- Occasional lifting of heavy objects and prolonged periods of standing may be required.
