Full Time, Temporary (View to Permanent)

37.5 Hours per week (Mon-Fri)

-£38,000 per annum

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Full Time Toolmaker to join our team.

You will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process by creating, repairing, and maintaining a variety of precision tools, dies, and fixtures.

Your expertise will contribute to the overall efficiency, quality, and performance of our products.


Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with design and production teams to interpret technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Utilize manual and CNC machinery to fabricate, modify, and repair precision tools, dies, and fixtures.
  • Operate precision measurement instruments such as micrometres, callipers, gauges, and optical comparators to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure consistent performance and longevity.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to tooling and equipment in a timely manner.
  • Continuously improve tooling processes and techniques to optimize efficiency and quality.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, changes made, and materials used.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and promote a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to identify areas for process improvement and contribute to problemsolving efforts.
  • Work collaboratively to meet production goals, deadlines, and quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications:


  • Relevant; technical/vocational training in toolmaking, machining, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Toolmaker or similar role, with a strong understanding of precision machining and toolmaking processes.
  • Proficiency in operating manual and CNC machinery, including lathes, mills, grinders, EDM machines, etc.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of various tool steels, materials, and heat treatment processes.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills to work collaboratively within crossfunctional teams.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software is a plus.
  • Strong commitment to safety protocols and practices.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and techniques.
  • Time management skills to effectively manage parttime hours and contribute to the team's goals.

Working Conditions:


  • Fulltime position: 1624 hours per week, 08:0016:30 Mon
  • Thurs, 08:0014:00 Friday.
  • Work environment includes manufacturing floor and tooling workshop.
  • Regular use of machinery and precision tools; potential exposure to noise and chemicals.
  • Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
  • Occasional lifting of heavy objects and prolonged periods of standing may be required.

Up to £38,000.00 per year
