The role is for a
Commissioning Delivery Manager to be part of the team and coordinate the testing and commissioning of the permanent works for CVB in the East section of the Tideway Tunnel

About the Project


The opportunity is to be part of the Thames Tideway Tunnel project which aims to achieve the ambitious target of "Reconnecting London with the River Thames", by tackling the issue of frequent untreated sewage spills into the river from London's Victorian sewer network.

The Main Works East is section was secured by the Costain-Vinci-Bachy joint venture ("CVB") to provide a new sewage storage and transfer tunnel from Chambers Wharf to Abbey Mills.

It includes the main tunnel, a connection tunnel to Greenwich Pumping Station, various shaft constructions, a connection to the newly constructed Lee Tunnel project, and minor works at the Beckton Sewage Treatment Plant


About the Role
The project offices and worksites are in East London.

Although much of the work is site based, there is some flexibility with respect to working from home for this role when site works do not require attendance.

Attendance to UK manufacturing facilities for factory inspection and acceptance testing may at times be necessary


Key Responsibilities
Supporting the MEICA/Commissioning Project Manager in the development of commissioning strategies and contract arrangements for the project
Creating and maintaining a safety-first testing and commissioning delivery environment and managing the development of testing and commissioning safe systems of works and associated risk assessments
Ensuring testing and commissioning best practices are achieved, and technical standards are consistently maintained
Client, supply chain and stakeholder engagement with respect to testing and commissioning planning, delivery and witnessing
Planning, scheduling, and coordinating the testing and commissioning activities across multiple factory and Worksite environments
Ensuring sufficient resources are available and in readiness for inspection, testing and commissioning, inclusive of the supply chain
Management of testing and commissioning non-conformances and resolutions


About You
An experienced commissioning engineer with a proven track record in coordinating and managing commissioning works within the water industry, preferably with experience of working on large or multiple site projects
Someone who can operate effectively as part of a large project delivery team, while being proactive and collaborative in interfacing with multiple stakeholders and disciplines, and across multiple worksites
Experience in the production of high-quality testing and commissioning documentation in a high governance environment
Strong and rounded foundation in the technical skills associated with MEICA and commissioning
Well organised and comfortable engaging with clients and end users and has good communication skills
Capable of effectively planning and coordinating the delivery of MEICA testing and commissioning works
Experience of working to construction health and safety management regulations, and who will ensure compliance with electrical and mechanical safety rules are maintained throughout the testing and commissioning works
