Description
Are you an experienced Mechanical Fitter? Do you consider yourself to be an asset to a busy team? Are you based in or around Llanwern, Newport?We have a temporary Mechanical Fitter role available within TATA Steel's Llanwern site. This role is ideal for someone who holds experience of Lifting Equipment/ Cranes and is comfortable working at heights.

Llanwern Cranes & Lifting.
Shift Pattern:
Monday - Friday - 07:00 - 15:00
Overtime:
(OT): 1.5x Saturday, 2x Sunday - During the working week OT 1.5x. The likelihood of OT would be fortnightly/weekly.
Duration: 12 month rolling contract.
Salary:
£31,844.80
Responsibilities:
Uphold Health, Safety, and Environmental standards in compliance with our IMS procedures and PPE guidelines.
Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on Overhead Travelling Cranes.
Perform high-quality mechanical repairs based on existing schematics within set timelines.
Contribute to the design and production of spare parts for cranes.
Engage in the refurbishment of current machinery.
Actively participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives, enhancing safety and cleanliness within the Crane Maintenance Team.
Perform additional duties in Workshops, auxiliary plants, and during downshifts as needed.
Carry out Safety audits and Risk assessments in accordance with our Safety Plan.
Essential:
Mechanical Team Member to work in the Llanwern cranes & lifting dept, Mon - Fri
Working as part of a team to carry out planned maintenance, fault finding, repairs, breakdowns and installation on site EOT cranes
Experience in Heavy Industrial Sector
Comfortable at working at height
Up to date with health and safety regs
Time served mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent
