    About the role...

    In a nutshell, the role is...

  • Having great design vision and awareness of changing market trends, guiding the Men's Design team to react swiftly and effectively.
  • Understanding the need for strong and effective communication, building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders (UK Next Design Managers/Senior Designers etc).
  • Working with the Sales Manager, driving key areas of opportunity to increase business levels.
  • Travel will feature heavily in this role with seasonal visits to the territories and inspiration trips with designers being a regular occurrence.

    The day to day...

  • To plan and create a directional and inspirational product development strategy for the department which draws on influences from a variety of design sources and reflects the latest shapes, colours, moods, fabrics and techniques, as well as seasonal changes.
  • Working in line with the agreed critical path ensuring fabric packs and designs are produced in a timely manner.
  • Work with Product Managers to ensure Design strategy can be realised
  • Identify and initiate new trend opportunities; constantly review the ranges, empower and motivate the team to challenge content and embrace creativity.
  • Work closely with your Director on key Design objectives.
  • Working alongside the territory product managers on key areas of opportunity. This will include supporting territories with planning showrooms, working on product capsules in advance of key meetings i.e., range building, selections, buying visits to territories.

    Qualifications...

  • Degree or HND in fashion or textiles.
  • Experience designing menswear is desirable for this role
