    The work of the People Services Team, based in Epsom, Surrey is key to supporting stakeholders within the business and the HR function in all things HR Services. This team delivers the HR Service with passion and commitment providing a consistently great customer experience, making sure services are delivered optimally and within agreed service level agreements (SLA's) whilst meeting all policy and compliance requirements.

    The Vetting Team Manager leads the Vetting Team, reporting to and supporting the People Operations Leader – People Services UK&E in delivering the vetting and background screening requirements across the business, ensuring employees are mobilised onto projects.

    The role focuses on leading and delivering the Vetting Team's ability to complete high level clearances, background screening and maintaining compliance requirements. Working collaboratively with the global People Hub Team based in Bangalore, UK and European HR Colleagues, the Global Security Team and the Security contacts within the business.

    They will co-ordinate key HR projects, coaching and mentoring own and other HR team members who form part of the project teams.

    We can accommodate flexible and remote working for this role, with some travel to Epsom required, which can be discussed prior to interview stage.

    Key Accountabilities

  • Commitment to supporting the HR Operations Leader – People Services UK&E in delivering the HR People strategy and People Operations objectives
  • Undertaking regular reporting to Senior Stakeholders on vetting requirements within the organisation, focusing on future work and proactive initiatives to deliver business objectives
  • Proactive engagement with key business stakeholders to ensure ongoing communication relating to work in the pipeline, understanding the impact on vetting for future work
  • Ensure service delivery improvement initiatives are identified through the active management of customer satisfaction feedback and proactive communication with key business stakeholders are progressed within the team
  • Responsible for ensuring all SLA's and turnaround times (TAT's) are developed and adhered to within the team
  • Accountable for the service delivered by the People Hub Vetting support Team based in Bangalore
  • Point of escalation for the HR Operations Teams and UK&E HR functions in all things vetting related
  • Respond to complex vetting queries, to support resolution of cases from managers and employees in line with governance requirements and SLAs.
  • Management and development of the Vetting Team
  • Build sustainable and trustworthy working relationships with our business partners and key security personnel.
  • Build and maintain working relationships with external authorities such as MOD and ONR
  • Manage and maintain third-party provider relationships, monitoring against agreed deliverables
  • Ensure compliance with all internal and external auditing requirements
  • Working with global Security colleagues to support global mobility onto projects
  • Leading on vetting projects and campaigns
  • Requirements

    Essential Criteria

  • Experience in delivering high level MOD clearances
  • Experience in delivering ONR clearances
  • Demonstrable commitment to continuous improvement with a high degree of initiative
  • Ability to prioritise and work under pressure to deadlines
  • Resilient and comfortable taking ownership
  • Experience of facilitating and influencing decision making
  • Excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to build valuable stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to work confidentially with sensitive company and personal information
  • Demonstrable attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Commercially savvy
  • Ability and has experience in managing projects
  • Demonstrable experience of leading, coaching and mentoring others.
  • Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in delivering airport clearances
  • Experience in delivering Met Police clearances
  • Has worked with off-shored service delivery in an HR Shared Service capacity

The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
