We are seeking a LeadTeacher for English to join our team , who has the willingness and ability to contribute to establishing the school as a local centre of excellence for learning and teaching for Autistic students.

We are looking for a colleague who is an English specialist and also a great all-rounder: enthusiastic, innovative, committed, highly motivated and a positive role model.Those with prior experience or training in the Secondary or SEND sectors will be well prepared for teaching in our school. We are committed to offering a full and broad curriculum across the school that enables excellent outcomes for our students. If you have the experience and/or drive to lead on other specific curriculum areas or aspect of provision, we will offer the opportunity and support to do so.

We offer a bespoke ECT program for those starting out in their career.

Job Summary

To take responsibility for the planning, implementation, and assessment ofa broad and balanced English curriculum for our cohort of students with a diagnosis of Autism and SEMH difficulties.To ensure that all students, irrespective of their varying learning abilities, makeprogress and achieve the best possible outcomes.

Successful candidates will be:

• A creative, knowledgeable, and reflective practitioner who has high expectations of learning and teaching for themselves and their team
• Proficient in appropriate models of teaching and support for autistic children
• Able to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff across the school
• Able to design a high-quality curriculum, giving students the confidence to succeed
• Able to engage and inspire students through engaging lessons and varied learning opportunities to reduce gaps in learning
• Able to support our students to reach their full personal and academic potential
