    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and advancing our product designs. Your responsibilities will include:

    • Leading the design of customised solutions to ensure our company remains at the forefront of our industry.
    • Conducting thorough research on industry trends and developments to inform design decisions.
    • Collaborating closely with Sales, Service, Engineering, and Suppliers to understand customer needs, analyse competitors, and position our products effectively.
    • Taking ownership of design projects from conception to installation, ensuring accuracy and effective communication with stakeholders throughout.
    • Maintaining strong communication with strategic customers, analysing production processes, and identifying opportunities for design improvements.
    • Developing and testing design models, layouts, and enhancements in collaboration with suppliers.
    • Maintaining an up-to-date CAD library (SolidWorks) of machine and line layout drawings.
    • Promoting a positive attitude and embodying our brand values at all times.
    • Upholding the best interests of the company and operating within legal and regulatory frameworks.

    Necessary Qualifications/Skills:

    • Bachelor's degree or HNC in an Engineering discipline, or 5+ years of relevant experience.
    • Proven track record as a Mechanical Design Engineer, preferably in capital equipment or special purpose machinery design.
    • Experience with gearboxes, motors, pneumatic cylinders, and bearings integration into machinery.
    • Proficiency in Solidworks 3D software or similar design packages for detailed drawings.
    • Collaborative team player with a hands-on approach and commitment to accuracy.
    • Ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively within a small design department.
    • Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

    Note: Travel to customer sites may be required (20%+)
