Construction MEP Site Manager job description?


Westray Recruitment are looking for an MEP Site Manager to lead the effort in coordinating and managing the MEP trades on a major new-build construction project in the Teesside area.

The role centres on managing the day-to-day requirements of a large multi-million pound construction and building project.


Responsibilities:


  • Estimate and scope MEP trades during preconstruction phase of the work.
  • Review Contract Documents, making suggestions/modifications as they relate to the MEP trades
  • Manage and lead MEP subcontractors throughout duration of the project (from Groundbreaking through Commissioning and Turnover to Owner)
  • Assist Scheduling department with developing detailed CPM schedules for all MEP installation activities, including cost and resource loading.
  • Work with the construction superintendent on project logistics and temporary facility plan.s
  • Review and approve material and equipment for MEP systems prior to installation.
  • Monitor the installation and startup of MEP systems and commissioning of project with Engineer & client.
  • Coordinate activities, materials procurement and other related activities with the Project Manager and Field Staff.
  • Communicate progress and prepare appropriate reports as needed
  • Represent in regard to the MEP process at weekly Owner's and contractors meetings.
  • Supervise, develop and mentor project staff, if applicable.
  • Lead and direct the 3D coordination process to resolve all conflicts prior to start of installations.
  • Take overall responsibility for the performance of all MEP trades.
  • Supervise review and coordination of submittals and shop drawings.

Qualifications:


  • Valid CSCS card
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Construction Management or Engineering preferred.
  • Experienced dealing with MEP subcontracts and subcontractors.
Experience and knowledge

  • 5+ years of experience in Construction/MEP Coordination
  • Good understanding of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing and lowvoltage systems.
  • General understanding of Building Codes, Mechanical Codes, Electrical Codes and Plumbing Codes as they relate to construction of project.
  • Have proven track record as a Project Manager on related projects with large MEP scopes.

Desirable are:

  • Construction & civil engineering experience on large scale projects
  • Main contractor or client experience
  • Based in the Teesside area (or close to)
