    Role & Company:

    We are looking for an Ethics & Sustainability Manager to join the Social Impact & Health team at John Lewis Partnership. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to our E&S plans, making a difference in the communities we serve.

    At a glance

    • Contract Type - 12 month fixed term contract starting August 2024
    • Location - The role could be based at either our Bracknell or London campus based on your preference. Our London office is relocating from Victoria to Pimlico during the summer of 2024
    • Working Pattern - We offer a hybrid working approach allowing flexibility between office and home working to suit your needs and business requirements.
    • Salary range - The salary range for this role is £52,600 - £79,200

    About the role

    Ethics & Sustainability (E&S) are core values at John Lewis Partnership. As the Ethics & Sustainability Manager, you will drive our E&S plans across our beloved brands, Waitrose and John Lewis. Your role will involve delivering our Social Impact & Health action plan, creating positive outcomes for customers, Partners, and communities. Your expertise will also be crucial in engaging with external partners to maximize the impact of our initiatives.

    Key responsibilities

    • Co-own the social impact and health action plan, methodology for impact assessment, and communication of results
    • Promote a high-quality social impact Pan-Partnership programme at the local community level.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure effective delivery and positive profiling of social impact engagement.
    • Manage charity partnerships, ensuring strong relationships and meeting fundraising targets.
    • Oversee programmes supporting health and wellbeing of customers and communities, driving impact reviews and enhancements.
    • Participate in the Building Happier Futures Committee of John Lewis Partnership Foundation.
    • Ensure legal compliance in all charitable and community activities.
    • Manage reporting, impact measurement, and budget responsibilities.
    • Lead a team of 2 direct reports.

    Essential skills you'll need

    • Degree-level qualification or relevant experience
    • Proven experience in delivering social impact programmes with diverse stakeholders
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Effective stakeholder management and organizational skills
    • Passion for Ethics & Sustainability, especially in social impact and health

    Desirable skills and experience

    • Experience in People management
