Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), Pastoral focus.Full-time - Permanent contract*We are looking for an enthusiastic, Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join the team.
*The Henslow and Evolution School is an OFSTED registered Independent Special School for young people with social, emotional and mental health challenges. Some of our young people are autistic, some have ADHD, almost all have experienced early childhood trauma.
Our school is set across two sites, the Secondary school is located west of Shrewsbury near the village of Middletown

We are looking to employ an experienced individual to respond across the school site supporting young people who may be struggling to access their learning.
You will need to have brilliant skills for engaging young people, using your emotional intelligence to see past their immediate behaviours to help them regulate and re-engage.
You must be confident to de-escalate behaviours, support young people in crises and work with them to develop strategies which assist them to learn.
You will receive an induction programme which includes reflective therapeutic intervention, attachment training and an overview of how our integrated service (care, therapy and education) supports our young people.
We would expect you to have experience of physical intervention and to have worked with challenging young people in any sector, over a number of years.
You will be supported by our teacher with responsibility for pastoral support, as well as the senior leadership team, school team and care team.
