As our Head of Finance, you'll play a central role in our leadership team, utilising your financial expertise to enhance performance and guide us toward success. Additionally, occasional travel to our different sites and clients is part of the role

Key Goals for our Head of Finance:

· Crafting and executing game-changing finance strategies alongside our CEO, bringing your financial expertise into decision making for maximum impact.

· Championing Efficiency, hunting down inefficiencies and seeking cost-saving measures. Driving our company's affairs in alignment with industry-leading standards and regulatory mandates.

· Maximising Resources: Ensure we're tapping into every available resource, from local grants to European funding, to propel our growth to new heights.

· Through the strategic utilisation of successful management systems, elevate our financial performance to new heights, with a keen eye on profitability and cash flow optimization.

· Crafting board packs that not only inform but inspire, featuring vital financial insights, forecasts, and KPIs that chart our course to success.

· Skilful navigation of cash flow currents, predicting and adapting to future business needs.

· Nurturing and mentoring the existing finance team to enhance skills and capabilities.

· Ensure compliance and efficiency in managing the entire payroll function.

What are the responsibilities of our Head of Finance?

Strategic and Commercial:

· Full involvement in the development and execution of our Business Strategy - providing strategic finance insights to propel us towards our performance targets.

· Champion major business development ventures, seizing opportunities with existing partners while developing potential new clients.

· Seek operational excellence, continuously refining our processes to unlock efficiencies and drive cost savings.

· Ensure our company taps into every available funding stream, from local grants to European treasures, maximizing our financial resources.

· Navigate contract negotiations with finesse, whether with bankers, clients, or suppliers, to secure mutually beneficial outcomes.

Stewardship and Control:

· Establish, deploy, and oversee systems, protocols, and safeguards crucial for maintaining the integrity of our financial data and safeguarding our assets, especially in high-risk or vulnerable areas.

· Conscientiously evaluate proposed capital expenditure plans, ensuring each investment aligns with our strategic vision.

Financial Management:

· Provide timely, commercially focused management information and analysis which supports the leadership team in their decision making

· Take control of our financial systems and controls, working capital, cash, and debt management.

· Overhaul our month-end procedures and financial models, ensuring our management accounts are timely and accurate.

· Monitor business performance working closely with business unit managers as required.

· Manage banking and external funder relationships and ensure compliance with all requirements.

· Maintain appropriate relationships with the external auditors, other external advisors and government agencies to meet all statutory obligations.

Management Reporting:

· Craft robust monthly management accounts, annual budgets, and rolling cash-flow forecasts.

· Fine-tune detailed budgets and cash flows in lockstep with our leadership team and budget holders.

· Deliver a comprehensive monthly board pack and timely financial updates, ensuring our leaders are well-equipped to navigate the business landscape.

· Prepare an annual accounts file for our auditors and draft statutory accounts, serving as their trusted guide through our financial journey.

What are we looking for?

We're on the lookout for a Graduate Chartered Accountant, ideally with ACA training, and boasting approximately 5 years of PQE. However, we're open to considering other esteemed finance qualifications as well.
