Description

The postholder will be responsible for managing the Clinical Application Team and abroad range of system administration activities, database maintenance, system testing, problem analysis and resolution, training and user support for the suite of ICT Clinical Systems.

The postholder will ensure that all information, irrespective of media, is processed and used in accordance with policies and procedures.


To provide management of the Clinical Systems and its users by working on rotation between Birmingham Children's Hospital and 90 Vincent Drive.


PROFESSIONAL

  • The postholder will be responsible for managing the broad range of system administration activities, database maintenance, system testing, problem analysis and resolution, training, and user support for the suite of ICT Clinical Systems.

    The postholder will ensure that all information, irrespective of media, is processed and used in accordance with policies and procedures.

  • The ICT Clinical Applications Lead will have a responsibility for nominating an 'owner' for specific BWC Systems in addition to ensuring all staff can provide cover for each other's specialist systems and other general system support. Each member of Clinical Application Support will be required to provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) knowledge to their 'primary systems'.
  • The Clinical System team must adhere to standard protocols and procedures in order to appropriately support staff and escalate accordingly. Staff are required to provide expert support and general user support /training for colleagues outside the ICT Department.
  • The postholder is required to participate in the Clinical System On-Call Service
  • Balance the needs of competing demands within a complex, high work volume environment and allocate ICT Support resources following prioritisation and escalate issues as judged appropriate to the appropriate senior manager.
