Accounts Assistant - Private Equity
My client is a well respected international Private Equity firm with more than $35 billion in assets under management.


Reporting to the Senior Finance Administrator and based at the firm's Head Office in central London, the successful applicant will be an integral part of the Finance Team (20 people) and be responsible for the management of the purchase ledger, payment runs,bank reconciliations and other ad hoc accounting administration tasks.


Responsibilities:


Purchase ledger and payment runs

  • Management of the purchase ledger within SAP Concur and Netsuite accounting system, including checking coding and ensuring invoices are appropriately authorised
  • Resolution of supplier queries and liaising with executives to resolve coding and other queries
  • Preparation and processing biweekly payment runs ensuring there is enough time for the payment run to be reviewed before being authorised on the banking system (eQ)

Treasury and cash management

  • Management of operational cash balances to ensure adequate funding of payment runs, monthly direct debits and adhoc payments
  • Building relationships with RBS, Wells Fargo and Commerzbank banking teams to assist in the resolution of payment queries

Bank and other general ledger reconciliations

  • Preparation of bank account reconciliations (including foreign currency bank accounts)
  • Preparation of various expense reconciliations and adhoc analysis

Other

  • Helping to ensure the successful rollout of a new SAP Concur system for expense processing across the firm
  • Management of employees' credit card and cash expenses through SAP Concur and preparation of the monthly outofpocket payment run
  • Monthly uploads to reallocate travel, courier, taxi and professional calls costs to the correspondent project/cost centre
  • Liaising with our Auditor at yearend to ensure audit queries are cleared in a timely manner
  • Assisting other members of Finance Team with adhoc project work and analysis, with particular focus on improving existing processes

Experience and knowledge required

  • 12 years experience in a similar transactional accounting role
  • Experience with accounting software packages
  • Strong understanding of Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • High level of numeracy
  • Ability to interpret written information
  • Work experience in a financial services fund environment (desirable but not necessary)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Team player, able to build relationships quickl
  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple work streams
  • Ability to work to tight reporting deadlines
  • Selfstarter
