    Interim Planning Policy Manager

    Midlands (1 day per week office attendance)

    MRTPI required

    £day rate negotiable

    Experience with local plan essential

    • Manage the staff within the Local Plans team and provide supervision to assist them in undertaking complex and challenging assignments to ensure a coordinated and appropriate approach to local plan activity.
    • To manage the preparation, implementation, and review of the statutory local development framework for the Borough to realise the council's vision and objectives for sustainable development.
    • To manage the provision of advice to the Council and its customers upon the implications of new legislation, policy guidance and initiatives advanced by other bodies and agencies.
    • Delivery of an effective and appropriate service to all service users, fairly and without discrimination.
    • To support the Group Leader Plans, Policies and Place Making in managing the preparation and review of the Council's statutory local development framework and related non statutory policies, standards and guidance, with particular responsibility for the management of major, strategic and more complex planning policy issues, in accordance with adopted service standards and defined performance indicators.
    • Prepare and present reports for the consideration of the relevant Council Committees and Project Boards on the local development framework and related policy matters as required.
