Driver Compliance Officer

Role Overview:


The Driver Compliance Officer is tasked with providing crucial support to the Fleet Manager in overseeing and enhancing driver compliance across the Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) fleet.

This role specifically focuses on compliance within waste management and place teams, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) training requirements.

The Officer will conduct comprehensive reviews, develop action plans, and facilitate the implementation of necessary measures to ensure full compliance.


Key Responsibilities:

Compliance Review: Conduct thorough reviews of driver compliance across the HGV fleet, with a particular emphasis on waste management and place teams. Assess adherence to CPC training and relevant regulatory standards.

Action Plan Development: Develop detailed action plans based on compliance review findings. Identify areas for improvement and outline steps to address any gaps or deficiencies in compliance.

Implementation of Actions: Initiate and oversee the implementation of action plans to enhance driver compliance. Collaborate closely with operational managers and senior management to ensure timely and effective execution of necessary measures.

Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with operational managers, senior managers, and other relevant stakeholders to foster a culture of compliance and accountability. Provide regular updates on progress and key compliance metrics.

Training and Development: Provide guidance and support to drivers and operational staff regarding compliance requirements, including CPC training. Facilitate training sessions and workshops as needed to enhance awareness and understanding.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, including review findings, action plans, and implementation progress. Generate comprehensive reports for management review and regulatory purposes.


Required Qualifications and Experience:

Previous Experience: Demonstrable experience in a similar role, with a strong background in driver compliance management within the HGV sector. Proven track record of conducting compliance reviews and implementing corrective actions.

Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of relevant regulations governing driver compliance, including CPC training requirements and other industry standards.

Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex data and identify trends or patterns related to driver compliance. Strong problem-solving skills to address compliance issues effectively.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization. Capable of articulating compliance requirements clearly and persuasively.

Collaborative Approach: A team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with operational managers, senior management, and other stakeholders to achieve compliance objectives.

Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously. Attention to detail is essential for maintaining accurate records and documentation.


Additional Requirements:


  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Flexibility to travel as needed to various operational sites for compliance reviews and training sessions.

Job Types:
Full-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 6 months


Salary:
£22.00-£28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37 per week
