Project Manager


Our leading UK based financial services client are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to join them on a permanent basis.


The role


We are building a sustainable operating model and are looking for dynamic project managers who are experienced in delivering transformational change in a fast paced and highly collaborative environment.

You will be experienced in using hybrid delivery methodologies,building, and maintaining, relationships with a cross functional set of stakeholders and focused on delivery of outcomes and benefits.

You will be working as part of a Change community, focussed on the delivery of a broad range of projects aimed at transformingour operating model and will support continuous improvement activities based on lessons learnt and previous experience.


Key Responsibilities

  • Define robust and reliable plans, scope and resource profiles
  • Proactively manage RAIDS and encourage collaborative resolution
  • Reliably forecast and report project costs and resources on a regular basis underpinned by robust delivery plans
  • Track and report progress vs. plan and preventive actions to avoid slippage
  • Drive innovative delivery approach to achieve project outcomes in a shorter timescale and high impact
  • Communicate effectively with project team and stakeholders across the hierarchy
  • Work closely with sponsors to define benefits and hold them to account on benefit tracking and delivery
  • Lead and manage workshops, working groups, steering committees
  • Ensure projects follow the agreed governance and delivery framework as defined within The Phoenix Group, this includes ensuring that all project team members understand the requirements and follow correct Change Management Framework (CMF) guidelines

What are we looking for?
You should have wide and varied experience of working as a project manager, ideally in financial services.

You will be self-starting, results and outcome oriented, focused on driving projects forward, keeping your project team, and stakeholders, engagedalong the way.

You must be effective at driving governance, process and content delivery; getting close enough to the detail to ensure that projects consistently deliver successfully.


You should be used to working in a changing environment, be comfortable with ambiguity and have the ability to structure and shape the delivery of projects.

You'd be expected to be autonomous, in your daily work, and be great at building project teams, influencingstakeholders and communicating effectively.


We are particularly interested if you have experience of leading complex and transformational Process, Technology, Data or Regulatory led projects, Operating Model design or implementation, or in transition management and post-merger integrations.
