Our client is a highly innovative Tech Startup located in Exeter. They are seeking to appoint a dynamic & proactive Operations Director/Chief Operating Officer.


This exceptional opportunity is both a strategic & leadership role, in which the successful appointee will be responsible for championing a culture of innovative thinking, scientific excellence, entrepreneurship, and strategic execution.


The core areas of responsibility will include:

  • Supporting negotiations on external contracts, creating & strengthening a wide network of partnerships as required to support the business.
  • Overseeing all Investor liaison and quarterly updates.
  • Researching similar company valuations, and setting strategy for seed/series A funding rounds, to cover cash runway and programme funding.
  • New Venture Capital Fund introductions and research.
  • Overseeing due diligence investor queries.
  • Be the main point of contact for all corporate legal work, including equity rounds.
  • Overseeing production of all investorrelated documents.
  • Overseeing external communication agencies.
  • Setting the annual R&D operating budget and commercial business plan.
  • Overseeing an Executive Assistant.
  • Signing off monthly payroll services with the external payroll provider.
  • Be the main contact point for external auditors and accountants who prepare the year end accounts.
  • Preparing / reviewing quarterly management accounts.
  • Preparing quarterly Executive summary report and main board report for board meetings.
  • Organising and attending regular quarterly board meetings.
  • Overseeing and approving supplier payments.
  • Helping to guide the creation of employee remuneration packages.
  • Be a key contact point for supporting HR agency who oversee all HR issues as needed.
  • Be key decision maker and budget holder for all staffonly related events.
  • Assisting the Executive Assistant to organise all investor or employee meetings or events.
  • Overseeing preparation of new employee contracts and offer documents.
