- Fault diagnosis, repair and routine maintenance of specialist vehicles and other company equipment.
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and complies with retailer, manufacturer, and industry guidelines.
- Keeping up to date with administrative responsibilities ensuring that all routine maintenance or repair work is subject of an accurate and timely written report.
- Evaluating, modifying, and preparing machines for hire at Dawsongroup emc depots and customers locations.
- First Line Repair, Fault Reporting for second line repairs and providing technical advice to third party engineers where required.
- A City and Guilds/ONC level 3 qualification or equivalent (Mechanical and or Electrical)
- Previous experience working as a Field Service Engineer / Vehicle Technician or (Commercial and/or Specialist Vehicles / Plant/ Industrial/ HGV / )
- Experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical circuits or sweeper vehicles.
- Have a great level of communication skills and customer service with the ability to demonstrate the values and ethics of Dawsongroup
- Have a flexible and adaptable approach to your role and be able to work well on your own initiative with minimum supervision
- HGV trained and LGC Class C Licence would be advantageous, but not essential
- Hold a Full, Clean UK driving licence

This exciting opportunity will focus on the servicing, maintenance and repairing of a full range of specialist municipal vehicles including Gully Tankers, Refuse Vehicles Tippers/Tipper grabs and Road sweepers.
This Field Service Engineer role gives you the opportunity to work across the South East Region, paid door to door. If you have a background in plant, specialist vehicle or HGVs then this role may suit you. Standard hours are normally 40-45 hours (Mon-Fri) with flexibility around start & finish times, anything over this is paid at an enhanced rate.
