REQUIREMENT FOR AN EXPERIENCED FABRICATOR Based in Hillsborough we are a Growing Fabrication Company that is well established within the Access industry supplying Access Products in both Aluminium and Steel to a high standard which comply with CE standards.

Requirements for the role, you will have experience in assembly of various components to close tolerances, working from engineering drawings.

Knowledge of Mig/Tig welding of Aluminium would be advantageous but not compulsory.

Core Role examples;

  • Able to read and understand technical drawings.
  • Review material allocated for fabricating assignment with specifications given on Bill of Material or drawings.
  • Performs all necessary setup operations preparatory to layout, cutting or bevelling and also for welding when related to the job assignment.
  • Performs all layout operations relevant to the fabricating assignment, using tools as necessary whilst adhering to deadlines set out by your line manager.
  • Performs all necessary burning, cutting and bevelling operations necessary to establish the correctness of length, bevel, and size of hole as relating to the job assignment. Does own chipping and removal of slag from burning or bevelling operations.
  • Uses appropriate tools, fixtures or other devices that may be necessary to set up and align such fittings and align from drawings within required specifications and tolerances. Machinery and hand tools may include grinders, cutters, polishers, and wrenches (only equipment in which suitable training has been received should be used).
  • Ensure health and safety of self and colleagues by adhering to the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Company's own Health & Safety Policy.
  • Always follow and adhere to Safety Fabrications policy and procedures.
  • Carry out housekeeping duties in line with Company Policy and Safe Systems of Work. Duties will be varied and may include cleaning machinery, sweeping and cleaning the workshop area.

Pay:
£13.00 per hour

Experience:


  • Reading technical/ engineering drawings: 2 years (preferred)
  • Metal fabrication: 2 years (required)
