About the Role:
Client focused and quality driven, we are a leading provider of Ground Investigation to the Infrastructure sector. We now need a Field Technician to help deliver our service to the London and Southern region.

General Responsibilities/ Specific Duties:

Undertake ground investigation using dynamic sampling competitor rig.
Direct and train junior field staff to operate the dynamic sampling competitor rig.
Use of hand held window sampling equipment and dynamic probing rig.

Understand specific testing instructions.
Supervise / undertake other general labouring duties e.g. erecting and repairing fences, breaking out of hard standing, general reinstatement of tarmac/concrete/minor

brickwork/reinforced concrete/block paving and cobbles/grassor landscaped areas, helping to mobilise equipment to sites with difficult access, light instrument
monitoring, delivery of consumables to site, collection of samples from site and tidying stores where required.

Undertake concrete coring using an electric coring rig.
Direct and train junior field staff to operate the electric coring rig.
Supervise / undertake shallow and deep hand excavated trial pits.
Supervise / undertake the installation of shoring safely to the manufacturer's guidelines plus backfilling when complete.
Supervise subcontract labour staff on site
Willing to assist with cable tool drilling for sick or holiday cover
Ensuring maintenance and appearance of works vehicle is kept to a high standard.
To recognise the cost of labour and equipment and to ensure resource if effectively utilised on site.

About you:

Proven ability to work independently and in team environment,
Ability to plan and programme both resource and equipment with the Contracts Coordinator.
Awareness of construction environment Health & Safety specific to field technicians and ground workers
Good health, mobility, flexibility and commitment.
Full UK driving licence
