The Insight & Analytics Service at Norfolk County Council is looking for a Senior Analyst, to join our Children's services (social care) team.

Norfolk has a shared ambition for every child and young person to flourish. We want them to live with resourceful and resilient families in inclusive and supportive communities, to have access to high quality education and training, and the opportunities they need to thrive in adulthood.

Children's Services is delivering transformative change. In late 2022, the success of our transformation journey was endorsed by two positive inspections. A key factor in this success is our innovative use of data and analytics which was explicitly named as a strength.

The Senior Analyst post will sit within an Insight & Analytics team but will be involved in close liaison across all directorates in Children's Services, with a particular focus on Children's Social Care and the emerging Family Help model, building relationships and business knowledge within the department.

The role will work with the Business Insight Manager and Lead Analyst for Children's Service Social Care, ensuring the department has robust management information systems in place to provide regular, accurate and timely reports for Children's Services Managers at all levels and for central government. They will also be responsible for responding to ad hoc reports from customers across Children's Services, as well as responding to Freedom of Information Requests.

The role will support workers and managers to better understand their performance information to enable them to better plan for the types of intervention needed for children and their families. Within project work, the role will be responsible for combining data to identify trends, working with partners to combine data sets, to highlight areas for change, and to model demand trajectories reflecting the potential impacts of change initiatives.

The post holder will be expected to proactively lead on the most complex projects, develop new data tools, use data to steer the department's thinking and to help develop initial thinking into proposals underpinned by clear analysis.

The post holder will need working knowledge of Children's Services processes, or the ability and desire to develop this knowledge at pace.
