    Subworx is seeking a Software Engineer to spearhead our software development efforts on a flexible part-time basis and continue the development of our MVP and other innovative projects.

    As the first in-house software engineer at Subworx, you will wield significant responsibility and autonomy, with the unique opportunity to shape the direction of our development project and future growth of the software engineering team.

    This role offers the chance to lead the way in revolutionizing underwater technology while benefitting from the flexibility of part-time hours.


    Strategic Leadership:

    Take charge of the software development process, guiding the overall strategy and direction of projects to align with company objectives and industry trends.

    Leverage your expertise in software engineering to design, develop, and implement cutting-edge solutions for underwater technology projects.

    Drive innovation by exploring new technologies and methodologies, fostering a culture of creativity and continuous improvement within the software team.


    Project Management:
    Oversee project timelines, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

    Quality Assurance:

    Establish and enforce best practices for software quality assurance, including testing protocols and code reviews, to maintain high standards of excellence.


    Documentation and Compliance:

    Ensure thorough documentation of software designs, specifications, and processes, while also ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

    Serve as a technical escalation point, troubleshooting complex issues and providing timely resolutions to ensure project success.

    Demonstrated expertise in software development, with proficiency in a broad range of programming languages and interfaces such as C/C++, Python, ROS, AWS and Java, as well as experience with embedded systems development.

    Preferably a relevant degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering - but speak to us if you have something alternative to offer.


    Strategic Thinking:

    Strong strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to identify opportunities for growth and development within the software team.

    Ability to attain and maintain security clearance for defence-related projects.
