    At Oxford Instruments Plasma Technology, we provide tools for the engineering of micro- and nano-structures, with customers using our process solutions to research and produce materials and semiconductors vital for everything from medical devices and diagnostics, to electric cars and quantum computers.

    Our Packing team is currently seeking an experienced Packer to join us. You will be responsible for packing products that are exported globally, as well as managing the stock levels of packaging materials. Additionally, you may be required to provide support to other areas within our Materials Handling department.

    This is a permanent role and may require working on a rotating shift pattern.

    Key Responsibilities:

    System Packing: (Key)

    • Ensure OIPT packing standards are maintained to ensure goods arrive undamaged.
    • Update Team Leader of stock levels of packaging materials in line with predicted requirements.
    • Load shipments onto vehicles for onward shipment.
    • Ensure packing is completed in line with the requirements relating to secure cargo.
    • Process Return to Vendor (RTV) requests.

    Health and Safety: (Key)

    • It is the personal responsibility of each employee to ensure their own health and safety, as well as the well-being of others who could be impacted by their actions and conduct.
    • All employees will comply with the Company's arrangements for health, safety and environmental protection.

    Manual Handling: (As and when required)

    • Ensure all movements of goods is performed in a safe manner utilising the correct equipment for each job.

    Person Specification – Essential requirements unless stated

    • English and Maths to numeracy and literacy.
    • Computer literacy
    • Demonstrable experience of Packing
    • Clear communicator
    • Some lifting (<25kgs) is involved.
    • FLT licence preferred
    • Able to work in a team and positively contributes to the team to achieve departmental/company goals. Shares information and knowledge to improve own and others contribution to the business.
    • Takes responsibility for his/her own work, and seeks ways to continually improve the level of customer satisfaction, internally and externally
    • Tidy and clean in appearance and work practice
    • Punctuality
