About the team

We provide 2nd line Application support to EMEA Banking Solutions. The primary team you will be joining is called Debit and Prepaid (DPP). DPP is a card issuing, authorisation and clearing processing platform with clients all over the world. The DPP team currently has employees working from multiple geographical locations.

What you will be doing

• Provide 2nd line application support to customers and liaise with other business and technical functions
• Be jointly responsible for the production support of FIS EMEA card processing application (Cortex) running on hosted environments
• Identify, own and resolve system issues within SLAs, ensuring application availability and performance is in accordance with SLAs
• Participate in infrastructure and customer projects where required, including the deployment and configuration of applications in production and middleware product upgrades
• Use sound judgment to escalate serious issues and those that may jeopardize SLAs
• Provide consultancy and advice to other business functions
• Assure identified risks are addressed and compliance / audit requirements are dealt with
• Write and maintain process documentation and suggest / drive process improvements

What you bring:

• Candidate must have extensive experience supporting Production Applications with high availability, compliance and performance requirements in a high-pressure environment.
• Provide incident triage and resolution in line with SLAs
• Experience in Unix scripting required.
• Webservices experience (Jboss, Apache)
• A sense of ownership of production issues with the drive necessary to resolve them, through immediate service restoration and long-term process improvement
• Desirable experience in any of the following
• Windows, Informix, Oracle , Splunk , Control M (batch processing) etc

Please note that this is a 2nd line Application Support role and not a System Admin or network support role.

• Experience of writing and maintaining internal facing documentation
• Bing part of out of hours "on -call" Rota
• Experience of working in financial services preferred
• Experience working with ITIL preferred
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills, an ability to deliver high quality work to tight timescales whilst under pressure and a pragmatic approach to problem solving
