    Desktop Support Engineer – Hedge Fund

    Central London – Onsite

    £60,000 - £70,000 plus Bonus & Benefits Package

    As a desktop support engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the desktop infrastructure within a fast-paced and high-pressure Hedge Fund environment.

    The desktop support team based is primarily responsible for the support of the firm's global desktop and VDI environment. Providing telephone and user-facing support to the trade floor, VIPs and other offices.

    Experience Required:

    • Experience working in Hedge Funds / Trade Floor Support
    • Active directory administration
    • Used to working to best practice methodologies such as ITIL.
    • Microsoft Office Suite – 2016/365
    • Microsoft Intune
    • SCCM
    • Market data applications.
    • PowerShell scripting
    • VMWare/Horizon
    • Azure
    • Good understanding of financial markets
    • Python support experience useful
    • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
    • Good understanding of control principles – Release, Change Management, etc.

    Main duties & responsibilities of the role:

    • Strong technical grasp of strategic platforms such as Microsoft Windows, Networking and Security, WAN, LAN, DNS.DHCP.
    • Monitor and manage SNOW, prioritising, and escalating issues when necessary, and ensuring timely resolution.
    • Experience of market data applications (Bloomberg, Refinitiv), market data feeds and troubleshooting Excel Add-ins.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve a wide range of technical issues, including computer hardware, software, networking, remote access, and telephony.
    • Assist with the documentation and maintenance of IT policies, procedures, and knowledge base articles.
    • Experience supporting remote access solutions.
    • Provide after-hours and on-call support as needed.
    • Collaborate with other IT team members and external vendors to address more complex issues and implement solutions.
    • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
    • Participate in IT projects and initiatives, contributing to their planning and execution.
