    Exciting Opportunity: Regional Support Officer (Casework)
    Location: London
    Hours: 35 hours per week
    Pay Rate: £27.00 per hour (plus excellent benefits from day one)

    Wanted a Regional Support Officer to join a prestigious professional body and national trade union, located in the heart of central London. As the Regional Support Officer, you'll be at the forefront of driving regional objectives and priorities, collaborating closely with diverse teams, contributing to the organisation's strength and reputation by efficiently and effectively supporting members, activists, and lay officers across the region as required.

    Responsibilities:
    Effective Communication: Engage in professional, sensitive, and diplomatic communication with members, activists, lay officers, workplace representatives coupled with the ability to foster strong working relationships is essential part of this role.

    Casework Management: Undertake written casework to achieve the best outcomes for members. From research to support and management up to hearings, including the production of statements, collection of documentation, and communications with members and employers, ensuring every step is meticulously handled. Additionally, you'll be responsible for preparing research in preparation for negotiations with employers and supporting casework.

    Recruitment and Engagement: Support recruitment efforts, especially concerning national priorities, and foster increased activism within the region. This includes recruiting representatives onto training courses, attracting members to courses and events in line with regional priorities, and engaging members in regional activities and events.

    Campaign Delivery: Assist in the delivery of national campaigns within the region, utilising every opportunity to recruit, motivate and encourage members to become active in the organisation.

    Skills and Experience:
    • Advocacy Experience: Previous experience as an advocate for members/groups of members at the workplace or local level
    • Analytical and Communication Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills are essential, alongside excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
    • Legal and Organisational Knowledge: Demonstrate knowledge of employment law, trade union organising principles, and employment practices, policies, and procedures.
    • Literacy and Numeracy: Possess well-developed literacy and numeracy skills, along with proficiency in maintaining electronic and database records.
    • IT Proficiency: strong IT skills, particularly in the Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to provide management reports in various formats.
    This role demands working under pressure and within critical deadlines, occasionally requiring mobile work and travel for regional and national activities and meetings. A steadfast commitment to the trade union movement, promoting diversity, and opposing unfair treatment is fundamental, along with a dedication to ongoing professional development and training.
