My client a well-established engineering company based in Darwen is looking for a Metal Grinder (drilling and cutting down metal).

The working hours are days Monday-Friday.


Responsibilities:


  • Operate and maintain grinding machines to grind surfaces of metal objects
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to determine grinding requirements
  • Set up and adjust grinding machines according to specifications
  • Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to specifications
  • Use hand tools and measuring instruments to perform precision grinding operations
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure smooth production flow
  • Perform routine maintenance on grinding machines

Experience:


  • Previous experience in operating grinding machines is preferred
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics for measurements and calculations
  • Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication processes
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and measuring instruments
  • Ability to weld, assemble, and fabricate metal components
  • Mechanical knowledge of machine operations and tooling

Skills:


  • Strong attention to detail and precision in work
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
  • Good problemsolving skills to troubleshoot issues with grinding machines
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects as required

From £11.00 per hour
