    Job summary

    Working in a team with the Data Protection Officer and Information Governance colleagues, the Deputy Data Protection Officer will play a critical role in ensuring data protection compliance across an ambitious and varied delivery focused organisation. You will be joining our small but friendly and highly skilled team of 4 people, who are committed to making positive change and ensuring accountability in data protection compliance.

    This is a rare chance to shape the future of data protection and information governance in a fast growing, national organisation with real social purpose. Working with key stakeholders and a professional information governance team you will ensure efficient, consistent and effective resolution of data protection and information governance challenges and the have the opportunity to help create a robust, effective and modern data protection and information governance framework in a fast-paced ambitious organisation.

    The role will support the design and delivery of key strategic projects across the whole of Homes England, from Human Resources to Affordable Housing. There are some exciting and ambitious projects to get involved with and this is an excellent opportunity to balance day to day delivery whilst bringing innovative solutions to the data protection and information governance offering.

    Person specification

    You'll be comfortable supporting the Data Protection Officer with complex information governance issues, aiming to deliver high-quality, timely advice. You will have a solid understanding of data protection law in the UK, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation, Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulation 2003.

    Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn�t always easy. You will be resilient and comfortable managing stakeholders at a senior level and your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as a data protection and information governance team. You will enjoy working in an innovative, fun and engaging way and be able to negotiate and persuade.

    As an experienced data protection professional you�ll understand how to manage colleagues and be able to demonstrate you can work with others as part of a team in a collaborative, inclusive way.
