Description

Two very excitingApprenticeship Clinical Technologistsopportunities have become available in our Medical Equipment Management Services (MEMS) and Radiation Equipment Servicing (RES) in the Medical Physics Department at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT).

The MEMS Section supports a vast array of medical equipment based around the latest technology throughout both of our hospital sites and in the community.

The RES section maintains and repairs radiotherapy treatment machines (Linacs) which are used to treat people with cancer.

Do you have good communication skills, a keen interest in electrical and electronic engineering technology, and the ability to absorb information? Enjoy working on equipment practically? Then we are interested to hear from you.

Applicants will be expected to have a genuine affinity to the Trust's values; putting patients first in all they do.

High standards of spoken and written communication and interpersonal skills will be an advantage, as well as some understanding of the modern healthcare environment.

This post would be ideally suited to an applicant able to motivate themselves from an interest in getting involved in the operations and productivity of an acute hospitals trust and having a concern for the quality of support delivered to frontline clinical services.

Successful applicants will also need to be able to occasionally work flexibly outside conventional working hours; where such demand arises.

As an apprentice, you will receive on-the-job training and experience. You will work across both teams for agreed periods, assisting in repair and maintenance of advanced medical equipment.

The successful applicant will be funded to undertake a Level 2 Diploma, leading to a Level 4 Diploma if successful, in Clinical Engineering.
