    The role:

    Property Development Manager

    A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Corporate Property Project Development Manager at British Airways. You will be responsible for delivery of projects (circa 2-10 million GBP) covering BA portfolio comprising circa 8.5m sq ft with a property asset value greater than £2bn. Together with project stakeholders, you will ensure the delivery of business benefits and corporate objectives.

    Managing internal property reporting, internal control & safety requirements via external PM's & Contractors.

    What you'll do:

  • Provide management of outsourced professional service providers, including Project & Cost Managers, design team & contractors to enable the delivery of a cost effective & professional service, throughout each technical project delivery programme.
  • Be accountable for project delivery to agreed time, cost & quality parameters. Control project strategy, implementation & execution, assist in continuous programme improvement, providing regular reporting.
  • Agree, establish & maintain effective project governance that collaborates with corporate governance. Ensuring effective delivery & adherence to corporate procurement, quality, safety, health & environmental policies & standards.
  • Take budgetary responsibility, monitor & advise upon project finances together with BA Finance Manager.
  • Audit projects, ensuring findings are incorporated.
  • Ensure satisfactory value & benefit is gained from every stage of the project life cycle.
  • Engage with suppliers to ensure programmes are resourced & delivered optimally. To review priorities across all property work areas in the programme, taking into account the Programme's strategic, tactical & operational requirements.
  • Manage rolling 5 year LCRP model & work plans.
  • Undertake ad hoc work on an exceptional basis or provide relevant cover for other team tasks. What you'll bring to British Airways:

  • You'll have strong leadership, interpersonal & influencing skills with proven ability to lead a team of external service providers including contractors & consultants demonstrating leadership & motivational capabilities.
  • Strong internal stakeholder management & customer service skills.
  • Be a driven, committed & motivated individual with a solid track record of delivering quality & creative solutions, able to work flexibly & independently, taking the initiative & responsibility for resolving problems & coming to own rational decisions.
  • Be an effective communicator in both written & verbal format.
  • Are numerate with demonstrable attention to detail, accuracy, thoroughness & completeness.
  • Excellent planning & organisational skills using appropriate & realistic prioritisation that delivers to target.
  • Calm and effective under pressure & able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously & balance conflicting priorities.
  • Your experience:

  • An education to degree/HND level or equivalent experience in a property related subject . Surveying, Engineering, Architecture, Construction or Project Management.
  • Professionally certified or working towards accreditation such as RICS, CIBSE, etc.
  • Have at least 5-10 years PQE demonstrating delivery of construction projects (UK /Overseas).
  • Knowledge of PM process in the construction industry including different procurement methods, contract types & contract administration duties.
  • Able to work & deliver under pressure and to tight deadlines, running multiple workstreams.
