About the roleWe have an exciting opportunity for a Senior User Experience and Interface Designer to play a pivotal role in creating compelling new UX strategies, and being responsible for the line management of UX/UI Designers within the team.


As part of the digital design practice, you will be responsible for user journeys and across our digital member platforms both for digital transformation and for continuous improvements.

You will influence the roadmap and input to plans for the future as well as being responsible for delivery of fantastic user experiences.

You will have strong expert knowledge of UX/UI and behavioural science.


You will be going on the journey from brief through to concept and design and all the way to implementation of brand new experiences.

You will be an expert in interpreting data and research to help understand our users and their needs. Implementing a UX vision for the future of Coventry Building Society in an ambitious way.

You will define, create and uphold UX standards and guidelines to innovate and ideate from wireframes to designed interactive prototypes to bring the journeys to life.


You will need to take complex propositions and find effective smart ways of using both existing website experiences, and new transformational concepts to create new user experiences that drive conversion and ease.

With a great eye for design you will create seamless journeys for our members.


You'll be responsible for line managing UX/UI Designers within the team, ensuring they are empowered, engaged and performing at their optimal level.

You will give advice and guidance as well as assessing, prioritising and delegating work.


You will play a critical part in bringing fresh and challenging new ideas to the team that are relevant to moving the CBS digital platforms forward based on external knowledge and interactions within the market.

Maintaining the UX/UI practice as a centre for innovation and transformation of journeys as well as bringing best practice thinking from your expertise and experience.


  • About youYou'll be able to demonstrate extensive experience in UX and UI design through a portfolio of deliveries from concept through to design. You will be experienced at not only working within a UX framework but also creating a defining UX frameworks, and communicating each stage clearly to stakeholders, utilising a variety of different methods. You will be able to demonstrate expertise in design thinking processes and getting yourself into the mind of the customer, as well as interpreting data and analytics. You will also be able to demonstrate the ability to influence strategy as well as giving advice and guidance to other designers.


You will have experience in line management, and will be able to demonstrate maintaining a positive team culture, and managing talent and performance.


You will have preferably worked within the financial services sector and have a good understating of working with regulation and internal compliance teams.


You will be confident when presenting to stakeholders, able to review analytics and data to support your analysis and have experience using prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD or equivalent.
