- Establishing good internal working relationships with all managers, engineers, supervisors and QA/QC personnel in order to ensure that all materials, services and consumables are procured in accordance with company and client requirements.
- Maintaining good relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure that materials are purchased at the most cost benefit and that good service is maintained at all times.
- General control and management of the procurement system within Langfields.
- Responsible for ensuring that all materials and consumables purchased on behalf of Langfields and their customers are clearly defined and specified. In addition, accompanied by the correct certification and meet the requirements of the relevant codes and specifications
- Arranging for best price and delivery to support contract requirements.
- Definition in conjunction with technical staff of certification requirements.
- Expediting with suppliers and vendors of all material, services and consumables
- Advise and keep up to date the Sales/Estimating Department and other relevant parties of contract costs against budget.
- Continue to review products / prices and suppliers in order to improve / maintain quality and further reduce costs.
- Collating and issuing Project Specific Job Packs for the workshop floor which include but are not limited to: Job Specification Sheet, ITP, Fabrication Drawings, Weld Procedure Specification, Weld Log, Drawing Register.
- Any other duty which, from time to time, may reasonably be required to meet the needs of Langfields and is within the remit of this post.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Planning Engineer or similar role, preferably in the fabrication industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate project risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
