    The candidate will be a Social and Environment subject matter expert and point of contact for colleagues and management


    • Serve as a resource and provide technical expertise for key internal stakeholders on environmental and social issues, policies and positions
    • Reports to the International Executive, Social and Environment Group (CSR)
    • Works closely with the global Public Policy, global E+S Advisory, LOBs & disclosure teams at a complex, global financial institution
    • Responsible for working with lines of business, risk colleagues and other partners to assess and manage environmental and social risk
    • Coordinator and point of contact, joining dots and representing risk within the Social and Environment group across international regions
    • Works with team to help shape and respond to ESG international regulatory changes and requirements
    Work with USA Advisory Executive to design, prepare and implement policies and procedures to address environmental and social reputation risks


    • Identify and analyze a full range of known and emerging ESG issues material to the bank and produce executive summaries to help shape our point of view on these topic
    • Prepare and deliver briefings on environmental and social risks and issues and brief executives ahead of internal and external events, including Committee meetings
    • Co-ordinate internal partners to facilitate monitoring of emerging reputational risks, peer policies and public policy elements in regions, with a focus on social reputational issues
    • Work with LOBs to manage and conduct environmental and social due diligence for products, relationships and at the transaction level from a reputational risk perspective
    • Support the LOBs with responding to client RFPs and surveys, providing Enterprise information requested by such counterparties and clients
    • Work with USA Advisory pillar and regional Business Selection and Conflicts team to ensure reputational risks are identified and mitigated both in on boarding as well as transactional
    • Part of the team responsible for the environmental & social risk review of clients and transactions, ensuring appropriate monitoring processes are in place, aligned to market and regulatory expectations.
    • Provide understanding and awareness of applicable Enterprise ESG policies, guidelines and project-specific requirements and ensure teams and LOBs across the firm have the necessary controls, resources and training in place to adhere to requirements
    • Prior experience in environmental and social issue management, evaluating clients and transactions for compliance with ESG policies and standards
    • Experience in working for a financial institution, understanding bank products and decision-making processes
    • Strong writing and research skills, combined with ability to filter, summarize and communicate complex relevant issues to executives and other internal and external audiences
    • Ability to anticipate potential reputational risks for the company and design mitigations and controls. Able to work with minimum supervision in a fast-paced environment and balance multiple projects, priorities and deadlines
    • Excellent external networks and knowledge connections
    • Prior experience working in an area related to environmental and social issues and/or public policy, including experience and knowledge of global industry guidelines, regulations and frameworks including (e.g. Comfortable in a complex, fast paced and results-oriented corporate environment
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel and other business technologies an absolute must
    • A comprehensive understanding of ESG-related regulatory developments, including recommendations from the TCFD, TNFD, EU CSRD, and Taxonomy Regulation, among others.
    • Experience in risk management processes and frameworks, disclosures, and a general understanding of the supporting data and infrastructure environment
