    Description

    Risk Management department's main responsibility is to control and reduce the Bank's exposure to credit, market, operational, and other risks. As a Vice President - Governance & Planning, your primary responsibility will be to develop and maintain a sound Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF), oversee framework embedment and execution, support enterprise-wide risk committees, maintain a holistic risk profile of the Bank and provide enterprise input to various initiatives in the Bank. This is a full time permanent position.

    Key responsibilities

    • Develop and maintain ERM policy document suites. Define and oversee consistent implementation of risk management transversal process such as risk identification, risk appetite and ad-hoc analysis and stress test coordination across main risk stripes
    • Coordinate and oversee annual refresh of the Risk Appetite Statement (RAS) of UK entities, working with "contributors" from the respective second line of defence (2LoD) functions
    • Coordinate the production of enterprise risk reporting, working with "contributors" from the respective business, 2LoD function and various committees
    • Maintain and carry out periodic review of the UK entities' risk profile, risk governance for internal and external stakeholders
    • Coordinate and promote transversal enhancements UK entities' risk identification and assessment framework and coordinate periodic/ad-hoc risk identification and assessment campaigns
    • Provide secretarial support to Bank's Enterprise-wide Risk Committee and Board Risk Committee (BRC)
    • Coordinate or provide ERM input to initiatives in the Bank, and to contribute, from ERM perspective, into other bank-wide process (e.g. ICAAP, Pillar 3, annual strategy review) or other internal/external engagement as in when required
    • Design, maintain and deliver enterprise risk training programme and communication in order to raise awareness and support the embedding of solid risk framework, governance and culture
    • Assume the 2LoD function for "niche" risk types (e.g. model risk) where required. Establish policies and 2LoD oversight over the 1LoD risk management activities and output
    • Maintain effective engagement with the stakeholders from counterparts at the group-level as well as business and the respective 2LoD functions in the UK for effective collaboration as well as sound understanding and effective embedding of ERM Framework

    Requirements

    • Degree educated in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting or related discipline
    • Solid experience gained from working in risk management environment in Financial Services, Audit or Consulting
    • Proven experience of working with senior leadership to develop, implement and maintain risk management frameworks and transversal risk management practices
    • Experience in assessing internal and external risk trends, and regulatory developments, and articulating impact on key deliverables
    • Solid understanding of Basel Accord and enterprise risk management in a banking environment as well as industry good practices relating to ERM component such as risk appetite, risk governance, three lines of defence, risk profiling and stress test framework
    • Excellent overall understanding of risk management as discipline, and preferably with proven experience or knowledge in managing one or more risk stripes (e.g. credit risk, market risk, operational risk, liquidity risk)
