We seek to recruit to the role of a podiatry assistant at band 3 level to come and join our existing established podiatry service, 5 days a week on a permanent basis.


We are looking for an individual who has completed their podiatry assistant competency or is willing to work towards this (training will be provided in-house).

Applicants need the skills and attributes required to work autonomously at Band 3 level.


The successful applicant will be based at Hessle Primary Care Centre, delivering care at that site, other health centres in the East Riding and in patients' homes.

A driving licence and daily use of a car is essential:

as well as travelling to different clinic sites, home visits for housebound patients across the region is an essential component of the role.


This position involves the treatment of a variety of podiatric foot problems suitable for Band 3 podiatry assistant work including nail care, treatment of pathological nails, assisting in nail surgery and carrying out home visits on our housebound clients.

There will also be a requirement to deliver preventative advice and foot care guidance to patients.

Individuals will be supported with their continuous professional development and will have opportunities to participate in audit and research.

  • Provide footcare treatment to pre—assessed patients of all ages and disabilities.
  • To facilitate and assist the Podiatrist in the day to day running and delivery of Podiatry services to patients attending the dept. This may include clerical duties as required.
  • To contribute to the smooth delivery of an appointment system, working to the direction of the Podiatry appointments cocoordinator.
