What we are looking for

We are currently seeking a number of Retail Assistants tojoin our Retail team on racedays, based at the racecourse in Ascot, Berkshire.


What youll be doing

Reporting to the Senior Customer Liaison Manager you will be responsiblefor the smooth running of the Ascot Shop on racedays, as well as thepreparation and stock management in the lead up to racing.


We have 2 permanent shops on site running on all racedays, with an additional 2temporary structures which are in situ for the week of Royal Ascot.

This role would initially be for a period of 3 weeks from Monday 3rdJune to Saturday 22nd June inclusive.

The role would be Monday toFriday 09.00 to 17.00 from Monday 3rd June to Friday 14thJune, with extended hours for Royal Ascot from Tuesday 18th June toSaturday 22nd June which would be 09.30 to 19.

There is potential for additional shifts at further racedays throughout theyear.

You must be available for all the dates and times above.

  • Maintainoutstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards
  • Maintaina fully stocked store
  • Ascertaincustomers needs and wants
  • Recommendand display items that match customer needs
  • Welcomeand greet customers
  • Managepointofsale processes
  • Activelyinvolved in the receiving of new shipments and stock management
  • Keepup to date with product information
  • Accuratelydescribe product features and benefits
  • Followall companies policies and procedures

Qualification, skills andexperience

  • Proven working experience in retailsales is desirable
  • Basic understanding of salesprinciples and customer service practices
  • Proficiency in English
  • Solid communication and interpersonalskills
  • Customer service focus
  • Friendly, helpful, confident andengaging personality
  • Basic administration skills

Uniform and a daily lunch will be provided. Ascot offerscomplimentary parking to all staff and the racecourse is just a ten-minute walkfrom Ascot train station.

We will be paying £12.55 per hour (exclusive of holiday pay).
