    Description

    NRL are looking for CS&A Engineers, Senior Engineers and Principal Engineers to work with some of our nuclear clients based out of Warrington. These can be contract or permanent roles and will require 2-3 days in the office each week.

    To be considered for these roles, candidates will need to be eligible to gain SC clearance, i.e. have been working in the UK for at least 5 years and hold British citizenship.

    The Role

    CS&A design delivery, collaborating with the AEMs and other discipline leads to meet project milestones:

    • Build, monitor and report progress against delivery schedules
    • Provide oversight and review of supply chain produced deliverables to enable Responsible Engineer acceptance (inc. CS&A design deliverables and installation scaffold builds)
    • Liaison with stakeholders (plant personnel, system engineers, construction team etc)
    • Undertake site visits & inspections

    Structural Engineering Design typically covering the following:

    • Production of calculation packages, production of CS&A documents and input into multi-discipline documents (Report and calculations, BoD, DJRs etc.)
    • Structural Substantiation of building elements (change of loading / area usage) e.g. concrete / steel structures / pipebridges etc
    • Detailing of temporary and permanent solutions
    • Consideration of constructability, fire and safety case requirements
    • Selection of replacement materials
    • HVAC / Pipe / Cable Tray support design / detailing
    • Equipment supports
    • Structural Penetration Design / Firestopping Specification
    • Detailed design of permanent access
    • Outline Prelim Scaffold Design
    • Stakeholder / design team engagement / meeting attendance.
    • CDM Risk Assessments
    • Input into Outline Installation Method Statements

    You will need:

    • General all round civil and structural experience required, with experience working on existing building alterations and asset care type projects
    • Chartered Engineer with the IStructE or ICE (preferred)
    • Incorporated Engineer with the IStructE or ICE (minimum)
    • Demonstrate strong leadership behaviour to drive timely delivery of an engineering schedule to quality and cost.
    • Experience of managing projects, leading a team and managing stakeholders.
    • Experienced in delivering work for Sellafield (preferred).
    • A strong understanding of the challenges faced working on asset care tasks in the nuclear sector (preferred)
    • Proficient user of MS Office suite,
    • Able to use AutoCAD (preferred) and MathCAD (essential)
    • Proficient in the use of Tedds and Staad Pro (preferred)
    • Experience using Cimage and Icepac (preferred)
