Do you have a passion for food and beverages? Do you have experience working in a coffee shop and/or restaurant? Birkbeck, University of London have an excellent opportunity for you in our Catering and Events Team.


The Catering Services within Facilities Department at Birkbeck College currently operates 3 cafés, a bar and restaurant located within our Central London campus.

The department aims to provide affordable, high-quality food and beverages for Birkbeck College students, staff and the wider community.


As a Barista/Food Service Assistant, you will be providing excellent customer service consistently and ensure that you and the units adhere to all food safety, health and safety legislations, financial regulations and other associated.


You will work with staff across other Birkbeck departments, in addition to the wider Facilities Teams thus good customer service and teamwork skills are essential.

You will be a good communicator and take part in stock maintenance, outlet maintenance, customer relations and guest care. This role also requires you to assist in the delivery of Hospitality Events across all College buildings.


Remuneration:

£21,808 per annum and will be pro rata:


  • FTE hrs (52 weeks):
  • £12,461/annum:
- **FTE hrs (Term time only 33 weeks)
- £,7887/annum**
The salary quoted above is based on the London Living Wage and will increase annually in line with the Government review.
