Overall purpose of role

As a Solutions Architect you will lead the solutioning and end-to-end design activities for major projects or programmes of work within the Corporate Bank, ensuring architecture deliveries are in line with strategies.

Your core accountabilities will includefull & partial concept solutions and architecture visions, helping to define non-functional requirements, end-to-end designs and supporting governance artefacts.

What you will be doing?

In your first month, you will:

contribute to the development of a strong high-performance culture within your function and the wider technology teams

- be able to demonstrate clear and effective communication with all levels of stakeholders

By your third month, you will:

produce Architecture Visions (AVs) and associated artefacts

- drive the AVs through collaboration with the project team and analysing project requirements
- secure approval for your AV's from the appropriate design and governance authorities
- present solutions to business and technical stakeholders

By your sixth month, you will:

build high quality products, adhering to software engineering best practices that drive an agile and product development mind set

- own your designs throughout the Software Development Life Cycle, ensuring continued alignment to end-to-end designs and review and approve component designs

Within a year, you will:
- be sought for your expert advice and knowledge, supporting the CIO and CTO lead architects to evolve the architectures and standards
- you will be familiar with the technical constraints of live environments and architecture and help support business clients in understanding any 'requirement versus cost' trade-offs

Throughout your first year, you will:

build your network of contacts, identifying Subject Matter Experts, technology and domain owners, and individuals to collaborate with
You will champion new initiatives within your own scope, actively investigate new tools and techniques so we can develop innovative, costeffective solutions which enhancing client experience

What we are looking for:

Solid history of architecture deliveries
You will be an innovative thinker

- up to date with the latest industry directions such as Cloud adoption, open-source software adoption, API first

Skills that will help you in the role:

Bringing additional thought leadership into the team of experienced architects
Solution architect and enterprise architect training and certification is a bonus
Workingknowledge of governance & control techniques
Understanding how to escalate sensitive or difficult issues

Where you will be working:

You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford.
