Castlefield Recruitment are partnering with a respected Public Sector organisation who are looking to appoint a
Senior Accountant to their team for a 6 month interim contract.

They are offering a competitive salary
c.

£42,503 pro rata and fantastic benefits package including a competitive pension scheme, flexible working pattern, hybrid working policy (2 days in office).

**The role: - Provide vital support to the senior leadership team working closely with the Head of Finance

  • Perform accurate and timely completion of all external financial returns
  • Develop financial systems and policies to ensure effective reporting and transaction processing in line with legislation, codes of practice, governance arrangements and best practice.
  • Participate in all aspects of the operation of the financial ledger including the preparation of final accounts of relevant services, and/or balance sheet accounts for service or central functions.
  • Analyse budget monitoring statements to deadlines and undertake necessary investigations into latest expenditure trends
  • Prepare grant claims and statistical returns in accordance with requirements by due deadlines.
**The person: - You will be a fully qualified accountant

  • You will have demonstrable experience operating within the Public Sector
  • Up to date and comprehensive knowledge of local government finance
  • Advanced IT skills comprising Microsoft Excel, Access, PowerPoint
  • Will have experience of working on various projects
